Maximum Living Designer Topiaries
If you want the latest look in your home from Europe, then you have to have topiary. They are easy to make and the best part is, they require no sunlight or water, just a little imagination.
4-5 long stemmed silk flowers (make sure to use flowers have nice heads on them like Hydrangeas or Mums, not flowers that grow on spikes)
Soft Styrofoam square and ball
Container (such as a pot or a wine bottle holder)
Take your long stemmed silk flowers and arrange them into a tight bunch with all of the heads on them even at the top. Now tape the stems all together, wrapping at the top and bottom with floral tape. You can also use a styrofoam ball and plug them into the ball covering the whole ball. Take your container and fill one third of the way up with marbles to weight it at the bottom. Now fill the remaining part of the container with your soft Styrofoam square. You can cut it up to fit.
Once the container is full, take your stalk of flowers and push them all the way down in the Styrofoam as far as they will go. Cover the Styrofoam with glue and cover with your moss so that your container opening is completely covered. Now wrap the floral tape at the top of the topiary with raffia to cover and tie it in a small bow. Trim the ends if you wish or let me hang down for a more dramatic effect.
This makes a great gift and can be a dramatic addition for any interior.
