Maximum Living Mango-Orange Granita
A sweet citrus refreshment that looks as good as it tastes. Homemade Granitas are really simple to make, and once you try it, you’ll be wondering how you've lasted this long without!
- 2 ripe, medium mangoes (Costco usually has a great selection)
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 2 tbsp Cointreau
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 4 tsp tequila
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup pure cane sugar
- 1 tsp lime zest
- 1 tsp orange zest
- Peel mangos, remove seed and put into food processor with orange juice. Add lime juice, Cointreau, salt, tequila, water, sugar. Process until smooth texture is achieved.
- Pour mixture into an 8” square baking dish and freeze to firm, approximately 3 hours. During the freezing process, take a fork and run it through the mixture to keep it broken up.
- Serve in your favorite clear glass and top with orange and lime zest.
