If you are still using foam shaving cream from a can, it’s probably time to let go. It dries out your skin and doesn’t do a lot to protect from irritation. Coconut oil has a lot of uses for skincare, but did you know it can be a key ingredient in an easy DIY shaving cream?

Ingredients & Supplies

  • ⅔ cup Kirkland Signature™ Virgin Coconut Oil

  • 2 tbsp carrier oil (like extra virgin olive oil, grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil)

  • ½ cup shea butter

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tbsp baking soda

  • 2 tbsp castile soap

  • 2 vitamin E capsules

  • 10-20 drops pure essential oil (like sandalwood, frankincense or lavender)

  1. Place coconut oil and shea butter in a double boiler and heat on medium heat until melted. Add carrier oil and stir.

  2. Next put melted mixture into a mixing bowl and add in honey, baking soda, castile soap, vitamin E liquid and your chosen essential oils, stir well. Let it cool for 2-3 minutes.

  3. Place mixing bowl on mixer and whip on medium for about 4-5 minutes or until its light and creamy.

  4. Store in your favorite air tight container and enjoy. You can now have any fragrance you like added to your shaving cream and there’s no need to ever buy shaving cream again!
